International LST and Emissivity Group

The International Land Surface Temperature and Emissivity Working Group (ILSTE-WG) aims to provide advice and recommendations to the wider scientific and user communities on the best practices for retrieval, validation and exploitation of Land Surface Temperature (LST), Ice Surface Temperature (IST), Lake Surface Water Temperature (LSWT), and Land Surface Emissivity (LSE).

Period of report: November 2017

The main activities in this reporting period can be summarised as follows

  • Joint UCM with the H2020 EUSTACE Project:
    • The workshop took place Monday 27th to Wednesday 29th November in Lisbon and was considered a big success by both projects to bring the two related communities together
    • The workshop attracted 43 participants in person and 2 remote participants
  • Finalisation of the validation and intercomparisons reports
  • Paper on cloud detection uncertainties from CCRR outcomes near submission
  • NRT demonstration continues to operate in a routine manner
  • Processing of the GlobTemperature Sentinel-3 Level-2 and Level-3 products have begun
