International LST and Emissivity Group

The International Land Surface Temperature and Emissivity Working Group (ILSTE-WG) aims to provide advice and recommendations to the wider scientific and user communities on the best practices for retrieval, validation and exploitation of Land Surface Temperature (LST), Ice Surface Temperature (IST), Lake Surface Water Temperature (LSWT), and Land Surface Emissivity (LSE).

folder UCM#2 (Karlsruhe, 25-26 June 2014)

Date and location: Karlsruhe, Germany, 25-26 June 2014

Registration is now open for the 2nd GlobTemperature User Consultation Meeting which will take place in Karlsruhe, Germany from 14:00 local time on 25th to 26th June 2014 and will be hosted by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. The meeting is open to all who are interested in attending, and there will be no registration fee. Please register at the Meeting webpage:

Meeting Objectives:

The aim of this 2nd consultation meeting is to provide a forum for the satellite Land, Ice and Lake Surface Temperature (LST / IST / LSWT) communities to share experiences and review developments in satellite retrievals and data sets. The intention is for users to be able to identify requirements for new data sets, to develop collaborations with the data providers and to identify the key uses of satellite surface temperature data.

The meeting will specifically foster the international development of strategies to support the satellite land surface temperature data providers and user communities for the long term. It will consolidate current User Requirements, explore validation approaches, communicate the broadening range of land surface temperature applications, and will conclude with an open meeting of the International LST Working Group which is being initiated through GlobTemperature and other projects.

There will be opportunities at the meeting to deliver oral/poster presentations for which participants can submit abstracts as part of the registration process.  The deadline for abstract submission is 14th April 2014.

A limited amount of travel support is available and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis subject to the approval of ESA.
